About the event
For the first time, QEH is opening one of our live technical workshops to individual and small-team bookings.
Our Flexible Pavement Design Workshop will run across two live online sessions, allowing participants time to work through the technical process without committing to a full-day workshop.
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
Calculate design traffic from first principles by determining AADT, identifying heavy vehicle axle groups, assessing traffic growth over the design life, applying directional and lane distribution factors, and converting mixed vehicle loading into DESA.
Develop a flexible granular pavement composition by understanding the effect of subgrade strength, determining the required pavement thickness, and nominating suitable base, subbase and lower subbase layers using commonly available pavement materials.
Design a flexible granular pavement from scratch in under an hour.
